What’s the difference?

TV VERSION: This is DreamRiders as seen on the Travel Channel, minus the commercials and the Travel Channel logo. At the spots where the commercials go, there is a quick fade to black, then immediately the DreamRiders “bumper” shot fades up followed by the animated map showing our progress and then the show continues. It is 90 minutes long.

 

DVD Extras

There are two extras included on the DVD. One is The Making of DreamRiders—a behind the scenes look at how we put this production together even though we had not done anything like this before. You can see the first minute of it by clicking here.

 

The second extra is an epilog on how our lives have changed five years after the trip—what we learned and where the relationship is now. You can see a preview of the epilog by clicking here. Each extra is 15 minutes long.

 

THIS VERSION SOLD OUT!

 

 

 

FILM FESTIVAL VERSION: This version won Best Documentary at the New Strand Film Festival and won the audience award for Best Feature Film and the jury award for Best Educational Film at the International Family Film Festival. It is 86 minutes long. It has a different beginning, a little less voiceover narration, and some scenes have been deleted or modified to make it flow more like a theatrical movie, including additional scenic shots in places. It won’t have any extras on the DVD because we’re waiting until we’re sure we have our final theatrical version to add a director’s commentary track and other features.*

 

SUPPLY IS LIMITED. ONLY 30 COPIES OF THIS VERSION REMAIN.

 

*We were hoping to do some more editing to turn a very good film into an even better one. If it’s possible, both financially and artistically, we’ll release a new version of the film. This is something we hope to do by the end of 2010. UPDATE: LOOKING FOR PRODUCERS TO HELP US WITH THIS WORK.
