Meet the DreamRiders in person

Ride with Us / Dine with Us / Provide Lodging for Us / Book Us for a Speaking Event / Help Us Set Up the Show

It's probably not everyday you can meet a movie producer in a casual setting right in your own town. Nico will be working back at home in California during the tour (we might be able to get him to appear at the end of some screenings via webcam.)

But Will, the film's producer and the Dad on the screen, will be personally appearing at each screening--and riding to each town, setting up the venue, interacting with as many people as possible and doing whatever else needs to get done.

In addition to meeting him at the screenings and listening to him speak during the Q&A afterwards, there are other ways to make a memorable connection with him.

Ride with Us

If you want to ride a bicycle with us on the day of the screening from the previous town to your town, you will be given a free ticket to that night's show. Visit our How You Can Ride With Us page for details.

Dine with Us

The theme of the DreamRiders project and Will's personal philosophy is "Big adventures, strong connections, no regrets." What better way to connect with people and share the adventure than to share a meal together?

Will would love to break bread with you when he is in your town. Just email and make a request. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • any kind of meal is OK: homecooked, restaurant, pizza in the park, etc.
  • in most towns there will only be an opportunity for one breakfast and one dinner (and occasionally a lunch) since Will will be on the move.
Is there such a thing as a free lunch?

With that last note in mind, we need to tell you--as delicately as we can so we are not misunderstood--that due to the limited number of opportunities, there may be more requests than Will can handle. Since one of the goals of this trip is to raise funds, you can contribute to our cause to guarantee a meal or meeting with him. If you're interested in this, you'll find information and a contribution button here.

Just to be clear: no contribution is required! But contributions help us finance our plans for more people to see this film, so they are always appreciated.

Provide Lodging for Us

We've slept on cold, hard ground in the open, in tents, on basement floors and couches and in lovely B&B's. Will would love to stay with you and get the chance to know you on this tour.

When the sun goes down, Will needs

someplace to lay his weary head.

Again, as discussed under the "free lunch" section above, supply and demand and our need for capital mean we will accept contributions. A contributions button and an explanation of the criteria we'll use for deciding between multiple offers is found here. Or if you'd simply like to offer Will a place to stay, email us here . Thanks in advance for your gracious generosity.

One last request: while appreciative of any offers of lodging, please understand that Will can't stay at the homes of any single women. It's a decorum thing.

Let Will Speak at Your Event

As a longtime teacher, educational workshop presenter and youth organization worker, Will has done a lot of speaking engagements to audiences large and small.

One non-native English speaker may have put it best in an evaluation of one of Will's workshops: "You never seem to amaze me!"

(since she rated it 5 stars, we hope she really meant "cease").

For whatever that's worth, we're sure you'll enjoy having Will speak to your group at a breakfast or lunch meeting, or other engagement.

There's no fee to book him, but he is subject to availability and the same contributions policy laid out on the contributions page. If you would like to book him or have any questions or concerns about that policy, please email him to let him know.

Help Us Set Up the Theater

Each day, we'll be setting up our projector, sound system and screen and whatever else needs to be set up to enjoy a night of movie magic. Then, at the end of the evening, we'll take it all down.

If you'd like to be part of this activity and chat with Will and sing "A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down" or whistle while we work, email Will and he'll send you the info. You can also check your town's event page to see if info has been posted there. If Will learns to Tweet, he'll twitter updates. If not, he'll probably email or call someone who can call the rest of the folks with the time to arrive. The more the merrier, so come on down.

In every job that must be done there is an element of fun!
